General information is hereby given to prospective students regarding the course program that has been selected to be pursued in the academic year 2020/2021.
We expect you to arrive on Monday, 16 November 2020, to take part in orientation. Failure in reporting on time will lead to rejection into the course. Kindly visit our website (www.dmi.ac.tz) regularly for any updates.Please bring this letter and original certificate or result slip (Form IV) and birth certificate when you present yourself for registration at DMI upon arrival on 16 November 2020. You are expected to work hard and diligently on your studies to succeed. Regular evaluation will be made, comprising of continuous assessment and examinations.
DMI has its campus in Dar es Salaam City Centre, along Sokoine Drive. Opposite to Nyerere Tower.
Fees payable shall be paid in two installments (half of the total annual fee upon registration and second installment at the beginning of the semester). Students will not be admitted unless their fees have been paid at the beginning of the semester in the academic year. Fees once paid are not refundable. Every beginning of the semester students should fill the form of registration accompanied by the payment fee receipt. Those who did not pay for application fees during the application period shall do so during registration i.e. payment of 20,000TZS.
The Institute does not provide accommodation facilities to students. However, the Institute can provide advice or assistance to students in securing appropriate accommodation in the city. Accommodation costs will be borne by the students themselves. Please check the joining instruction for the list of recommended hostels.
Travel and transit subsistence allowance shall be paid by the students themselves. The Institute does not pay for the students’ transport expenses to and from the Institute. Also, the Institute does not pay for the students’ transport to and from the Industrial Training site.
Every foreign student is required to obtain a valid passport and other relevant documents as
appropriate before she/he leaves for Tanzania. The Institute will assist registered students with valid travel documents to obtain study permits from the :

REQUIREMENTS FOR ENGINEERING STUDENTS
Safety boot, overall (blue or light Blue), Drawing board and Scientific Calculator, Parallel ruler, and Scientific Calculator.
Upon arrival at the Institute, you will be required to fill the registration form and abide by the regulations of the Institute.
